THEIR CHALLENGE

OPCA’s member clinics provide a safety net for many. To make sure that support rests on solid ground, OPCA recognized it needed to diversify its revenue mix to protect itself from funding fluctuations, while leveraging the progress it had made on payment reform. Bringing it all together would require a healthy dose of strategic thinking.

Our approach

We helped the OPCA think through potential business models that would take advantage of its deep knowledge in payment and care reform and decide which would be most effective and least risky. We then built a financial model to understand how it could reasonably expect to perform over 36 months.

The Result

In 2019 OPCA began work on creating a new network structure that will allow it to act in tandem with its member clinics to better negotiate with payment providers, creating savings for the clinics and additional revenue for the organization.
